Was born in Tehran in 1951. In 1981 he graduated from Kroydon College of Arts in London. His professional career began with his work on animation projects, at Iranian television. He is the author of many scripts for the films he directed.

Filmography: «Animals in Standard Bearer» (1985), «The Passage» (1987), «Fright» (1988), «Don't Muddle The Water» (1990), «Attack on H3» (1995), «Upside Down World »(1998).

Film Shahryar Bahrani «Holy Mary», about the life of the Blessed Virgin Mary was awarded in the nomination «The best screenplay» and «The Best Actress» at the I Kazan International Muslim Film Festival «Golden Minbar».
