COMPETITION OF SCENARIOS

August 1 – September 11, 2011

For participation in competition complete scenarios of game full-length and short-footage films (not synopses, narratives or novels) in Russian or English are accepted.

The authors living in any country of the world can take part in competition, without restrictions on age.

Scripts must meet the theme and concept of the Kazan film festival: to popularize universal spiritually-moral and cultural values, ​​to bear the idea of ​​peacemaking, tolerance and humanism, to create an objective idea of Islam and Muslims.

The scenario declared for participation in competition, should be original, i.e. not to be revised version of a known literary work. Time of a script writing has no value, however the plot should be actual. The competition does not allow scripts which have already been used for filming.

The sent scenarios are estimated by following basic criteria:

- Idea (a plan, prerequisites);

- A plot – further developments and its structure;

- Characters - the presence of bright memorable characters and the validity of the motivations for their actions;

- Dialogues - imagery of speech and its dramaturgic expediency;

- Stage potential - whether modern film studios interest in this version of the story

Leading Russian film directors and film critics will be on the jury of competition of script.

The competition consists of 2 stages:

1st stage –application for scripts: from August, 1 till August, 20th, 2011;

2nd stage – jury work: from August, 20th till September, 5th, 2011

The competition results will be announced during the VII Kazan international festival of Muslim Film (6-11 September 2011). Winners will be awarded by prizes and diplomas.

Applications for participation should be sent till August 20, 2011 on e-mail info@kazan-mfmk.com (attachment). Name, phone numbers and address of the author should be filled out in the letter.

Texts should be sent in electronic form.

- A font – Times New Roman,

- A size – 14,

- A line spacing – 1,5;

- Volume of texts - to 50 pages (for short films), to 150 pages (for full meter).
