Press Centre of VII International Muslim Cinema Festival organized the meeting with authors of a documentary called "Inspired by Tukay" on September, 10.
Director Nikolai Morozov told that the film was completed in a very short period of time under financial assistance of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan. The director says: "When the state declared the bid for making the film about winners of the Republican award named after G. Tukay we immediately thought of Rustem Abyazov. We witnessed his work for many years and as the result an impressive "dossier" on the musician was put together. Although we had shortage of money and time, everything worked out well. "
Rustem Abyazov, a conductor and an art director of «La Primavera» orchestra admitted that he decided to participate in the shooting process primarily out of curiosity: "I've never been featured in a documentary film. I wanted to refuse at first because I thought it would be a part of the series about "great people". Later, when I was told more about the idea of the film, I became interested. "
Newsreel made at the rehearsal of «La Primavera» orchestra served as the basis for the film. Abyazov worked on "Tukay’s melodies” and reminded the musicians episodes from the life of “Tatar Pushkin” by reading excerpts of his poetry ... The filmmakers describe their work as a musical documentary. A special feature of the film was the usage of "living" paintings created from the sand in front of the audience.
"The idea of sand-paintings came unexpectedly, - said Nikolai Morozov. - We wanted to give the zest to the film and thought about using animation. Thanks to artist Elena Ermolina the idea of «live sand" was materialized and I think we managed to hit the mark.
Igor Sidenko was a sound engineer. "Igor perfectly crafted the material, - said Rustem Abyazov. - The film features both new digital recordings made at the orchestra rehearsals and concerts, and old film recordings made 20 years ago. What is surprising, "transitions", "joints" in the music are absolutely invisible, and the quality of the sound is great. "
According to producer Kuzma Morozov, the film was screened at "Mir" movie theatre, where it received a warm reception of the public. “Inspired by Tukay" is the only Tatarstan film included into the program of VII Kazan International Muslim Cinema Festival. |
